This post is dedicated to my friend LaRae because she loves to know all the little details about my pregnancy, setting up the nursery, outfits I buy, etc. It's nice to have a friend who truly cares about the little things that go on in my life. I am seriously so thankful for her friendship and all the thoughtful things she does for me. She is probably one of the most giving people I know. For example, she was the first one to send Josiah and I a wedding gift soon after we were engaged, and she was the first one to send me a little treat in the mail (Target gift card) when she found out we were pregnant. She is truly a gem and constantly teaches me how to be a better friend. She also challenges me in my relationship with the Lord on a continual basis through her blog, which I love reading...and just through the chats we have. Love ya, LaRae! Here are some updates for you:
Yesterday, we returned from our babymoon, which was a trip to Charleston, SC and Savannah, GA. Our favorite city out of the two was definitely Charleston! We went on ghost tours, toured old mansions and plantations, took a harbor history tour in Charleston, shopped, ate, and went to two different beaches. It was so wonderful spending so much time together-- definitely a trip we won't forget! Here is a sneak peak of some of the many pictures we took while on our trip (I'll try to post more soon):
Well, it's official...we are having a baby GIRL. We found out today and are super excited. I have some ultrasound pictures but for some reason Blogger is not letting me upload them. Josiah and I baked pink and blue cupcakes last night and then iced them with white icing so you couldn't tell what color the middle was....then when we found out today that it was a girl I took the pink cupcakes to my mom's work and surprised her! It was a fun way to tell the gender and my mom really enjoyed it. Unfortunately my dad was out of town so he didn't get to participate in all the fun, but he is so pumped about spoiling our little girl in a few months!
Here is the latest picture of my almost non-existent belly. I was 15 1/2 weeks in this picture. Now I am 17 weeks and it hasn't really grown much since then. I also had maternity pants on in this picture, which always makes you look bigger than you really are. The doctor said at my 16 week appointment that my belly is very small for how far along I am, but that it is nothing to worry about. I have gained about 4 lbs total, and am still eating like a total HOG! I guess my metabolism is just totally ramped up or something. Whatever it is, I am thankful. I really did not want to gain a lot of weight with this pregnancy because I was already over my normal weight when I got pregnant. My weight gain goal is 20-25 pounds, but if I gain more that is okay too. I don't really monitor what I eat (obviously I try to stay away from really junky stuff), but I do try to exercise 4 times a week or so.
