7 & 8 MONTHS!
PostedWow, I am really behind on my blogging. I can't believe it is already March. Christmas feels like yesterday. Porter is almost 8.5 months now, but here are some photos from his 7 month birthday. The little calendar I have for him was missing a "7" for some reason so I put January 19th as the date (instead of "07") so I would know that these were his 7 month pictures. Right around this time he started sitting up really good without assistance, which changed our lives! He and Greenlee really started playing well together at that point because he could sit up and play with toys. She is really good about entertaining him. In January we also hit another big milestone with G-- potty training. We completely day trained her in less than a week, which has been AMAZING. I still haven't figured out how to train her for naps and nights, so I'm kind of waiting until she starts waking up dry to take away diapers completely. But for daytime, it's all panties all the time. We are saving so much money on diapers now! Other new things for Porter:
-- said "dada" at 6 months, now he is working on other sounds: "va va", "ba ba", etc. But, still no "mama"
-- size 3 diaper, 9 month clothes
-- starting chewing his food, so I make his baby food nice and chunky now and have started giving him more finger foods with meals. He still doesn't get the whole self feeding thing (he can pick up food, just doesn't put it in his mouth), but he loves to eat off a fork or for me to pop bits and pieces of stuff in his mouth
-- - waking up happy from naps! this has been huge!
-- right at 8 months he started crawling, and a week later he started pulling up. He is catching on to the whole "moving" thing really quick, and now we realize it's time to lower his crib! I'm excited for his new found freedom, as it is refreshing not to hear him whine all the time out of frustration from not being able to go anywhere! At the same time, it is definitely a little more work for me to keep up with him. We found him elbow deep in Greenlee's potty the other day (before i had the chance to empty it out). He is pretty fascinated by that potty, so we must constantly keep an eye on that little booger. He is also fascinated by cords, so I have already had to start the discipline process. Boo hoo!
Here he is at 8 months:
