Well, it's official...we are having a baby GIRL. We found out today and are super excited. I have some ultrasound pictures but for some reason Blogger is not letting me upload them. Josiah and I baked pink and blue cupcakes last night and then iced them with white icing so you couldn't tell what color the middle was....then when we found out today that it was a girl I took the pink cupcakes to my mom's work and surprised her! It was a fun way to tell the gender and my mom really enjoyed it. Unfortunately my dad was out of town so he didn't get to participate in all the fun, but he is so pumped about spoiling our little girl in a few months!
Here is the latest picture of my almost non-existent belly. I was 15 1/2 weeks in this picture. Now I am 17 weeks and it hasn't really grown much since then. I also had maternity pants on in this picture, which always makes you look bigger than you really are. The doctor said at my 16 week appointment that my belly is very small for how far along I am, but that it is nothing to worry about. I have gained about 4 lbs total, and am still eating like a total HOG! I guess my metabolism is just totally ramped up or something. Whatever it is, I am thankful. I really did not want to gain a lot of weight with this pregnancy because I was already over my normal weight when I got pregnant. My weight gain goal is 20-25 pounds, but if I gain more that is okay too. I don't really monitor what I eat (obviously I try to stay away from really junky stuff), but I do try to exercise 4 times a week or so.
We are so happy to announce that we finally found the perfect apartment for us and our new baby. It is a duplex-style apartment in a super convenient location for Josiah and in a really nice area of town. We will be close to my doctor's office, some of our favorite restaurants, the baby's pediatrician, lots of parks, the bus stop, and so much more! We are beyond thrilled. Here are some pictures of our new place.
Today we got to hear our baby's heartbeat for the first time EVER! It was the coolest sound...and it was beating strong in the 160s. It still seems so surreal to me that I have a tiny human growing inside of me...I can't quite grasp it and I don't think I truly will until I start to feel the baby move. We also scheduled the anatomy appointment today which is when we will get to find out the gender. The date is set for May 12th! I'm already counting down the weeks!

Per the request of my sweet friend, Larae, I decided it was time to update the blog incase some family or friends have not heard the news: we are expecting our first child on October 12, 2010. I am currently 10.5 weeks along and so far the whole pregnancy experience has been LESS THAN glamorous, let me tell you (at least I'm honest, right?). I've been really sick, but thankfully my doctor gave me some awesome medicine that has been helping me keep down food and just be able to function. Josiah has been incredible every single minute so far. He has been cleaning the house, cooking, doing the dishes, running errands, etc...on top of working 40+ hours a week and going to school full-time. He is simply the most incredible husband ever and I am so blessed to have him!
This post isn't going to be very exciting because I don't have any new pictures-- we haven't been taking any lately. But, we have had some excitement around our house lately. January 31st was my 26th birthday and Josiah made it SO awesome. He cooked me chicken parmesan (homemade) one night, took me out to dinner another night, and then on my actual birthday we ate sushi. He also baked me a homemade strawberry cake. It was so delicious. I told him he needs to start cooking more because he was hiding his culinary talents from me!
