Another Fun Comparison

This is week 27 with Greenlee

Week 29 with Porter

Just thought I'd post another fun pregnancy comparison.  Sorry for the grubby picture of me and Porter-- that was cleaning day, aka no makeup...lol :)  We are going on vacation soon and it's going to be my mission to take LOTS of pictures since this will be our last vacay for a LONG time.  I'll post photos when we get back!

Greenlee 18 Months Old

Here are a few recent pictures of my baby girl at 18 months.  She has FINALLY started saying more than Mama, Dada, and Bye bye.  In the past few weeks she has been saying cheese, car, poop, and bath.  It's so fun hearing her say new words!  We've also been experiencing the wonderful world of tantrums lately.  Not so fun for mom and dad, but I found this awesome parenting book called "Raising Godly Tomatoes" that has been extremely helpful as far as practical, yet Biblical advice on how to discipline and train children of all ages-- even older babies and toddlers.  We are making a little progress as we've started implementing some of those principles.

Here are few fun stats about Greenlee at 18 months:
-- size 5 diaper
-- size 6 shoe
-- 24 mos clothes
-- naps are crazy.  her medicine recently just got changed and ever since then her naps are all over the board.  she goes down at 12:30, but never sleeps the same amount of time.  Some days it's an hour, other days it's 3 hours
-- bedtime is 8 or 8:30pm, she wakes up anywhere from 7:30-8:30am
-- last month she was 27 lbs and 34 inches tall...18 month check up is in a few weeks, so I'll post those stats then
-- eating is improving but still not great.  she refuses to touch most fruits and vegetables, but we keep trying!  mainly her diet consists of PBJ, cheese and turkey tortillas, grilled cheese, cheese, yogurt, crackers, bread, cereal, and chicken nuggets.  We are working hard to improve/expand her diet but as most people know you can't force a toddler to eat certain foods!
-- she LOVES the outdoors.  I try to take her walking most days out of the week or we go somewhere she can play outside.
-- she also LOVES books.  she'll have us read every book in her book stack about 10 billion times. haha.  we are glad she enjoys reading so much!

7 Months

Here we are at 7 months.  Total weight gain at my last appt was 8 lbs.  Also, my glucose test results were normal-- yay!  All is well and no news to report.

Here we are watching the UK vs UL game at my parents house.  We are proud to be UK fans!  National Champs, baby!  Go BIG BLUE!!!!!!!

I'll try to post an 18 month update on Greenlee soon...to be continued :)

My Favorite Things

Posted by: Jenna

Greenlee is 17 months old now and I've realized lately that she is really starting to look like a little girl, not a baby. Kind of sad for mommy, but exciting to watch her grow at the same time. She currently weighs 27 lbs and is 34 inches tall. Here are a few of her favorite things to do...

 Hide under furniture

Play with shoes, or anything else that belongs to Daddy

Read books (even upside down, she's advanced! ha), especially books about Elmo

 Play with blocks

Strum the vent like she's playing the harp...haha

Dance to music (Mickey Mouse and Elmo are her favorite tunes)

Play with Mommy or Daddy's phone when she thinks we aren't looking

Go on walks-- she loves her stroller!

Explore new textures...she loves feeling the Welcome mat...lol

6 Months pregnant with Greenlee

6 Months pregnant with Porter

Weight gain is definitely picking up now...last week I was up 6 lbs. Porter is way more active now than he was a few weeks ago-- doing constant karate moves. His favorite time to harass me is around 1am of course. Between him and Greenlee having a cold I haven't gotten very good rest lately! As they say, it's God's way of preparing our bodies for no sleep. I am definitely not looking forward to that part. If I could slow time down I would. It seems to go by much too quickly these days. It's unreal to me that I am 2 weeks away from my 3rd trimester....holy cow!

22 Weeks Comparisons

Posted by: Jenna

So, as you may know, I've been trying so hard to eat healthy and exercise this pregnancy to keep my weight gain under control. I looked back at my pregnancy journal from Greenlee and at 24 weeks I had gained 19 pounds! Total insanity. I really don't even know how I let that happen! This time, at 22 weeks, I have gained around 3 or 4 pounds (I fluctuate back and forth). What a difference. Gosh, no wonder I had some serious back pain last time! Anyways, here is a fun comparison between my two pregnancies. I'm going to keep posting these as time goes by for motivation and just for fun.

23 Weeks pregnant with Greenlee. Whoa BABY!

22 Weeks Pregnant with Porter

It's A Boy!

Posted by: Jenna

Well folks, there is no denying as you can see...we are having a little boy!

Here is our sleepy little guy sucking his thumb. He was trying to sleep through the whole ultrasound.

Here is a nice profile pic. He weighed 8 ounces as of January 31st. Everything looks good and he is as healthy as can be seen via ultrasound. We are praying he has no medical issues, especially the congenital hypothyroidism.

I am 20 weeks and have gained 2 pounds total, so the doctor is very happy with me! At 20 weeks with Greenlee I had gained 10 pounds! I'm still working out 5 times a week for about an hour each time and I've been able to keep doing my spin classes 3 times a week. I truly believe that exercise has helped me have a much better pregnancy this time around. I've noticed a difference even in my mental state. Working out is definitely good for the body, mind, and soul. I really don't have any other updates for you because everything is going great...I've had a wonderful pregnancy so far. Until next time, we continue to pray for our little boy, Porter, as he grows.
