We're Moving!

Posted by: Jenna

The front of the house. The landscaping needs some major TLC, but I figure what is the point of us putting our money into it when we don't own the property?
The view from the front entrance. This is our family room.
View from hallway looking at back entrance.
Baby's room. Josiah says baby doesn't need its own closet. ha...I told him he'd be surprised how much stuff babies accumulate!
Baby's room
Our room/closet view. The closet is actually very big for an older apartment. We are going to put a second rail in there so we can hang more clothes.
View of our room from the doorway. Each room has two windows. I'm not looking forward to buying all the curtains. Curtains are so expensive!
The linen closet...nice and roomy!
The bathroom. Everything in this bathroom is completely new and renovated...new tile, new tub, new marble sink, new mirror, new floors, new fixtures, new toilet! I'm thrilled about that...one of the things I hate most about renting is the thought of taking a bath/shower in the same tub as who knows how many other people. Plus, it always feels like no matter how much I clean, old bathrooms never feel clean. But this bathroom is brand new!
This is the coat closet located off the main family room. To the left there is actually more space that you can't see in the picture...so it's a pretty deep closet which will be nice for storing strollers and such. Also, there is extra storage in the basement, which is where we will do all of our laundry-- we get to bring our own washer and dryer which is nice. Water is included in our rent, so we can do all the laundry we want and don't have to pay extra! yay!!
This is a little fireplace in the family room that the landlord installed. We will probably take it out and put it in storage since it just kinda takes up space.
This is another view of the family room. The door is the front entrance.
The view of the kitchen from the family room. Everything is new in the kitchen as well. All the cabinets, appliances, tile flooring, fixtures, etc.

view from kitchen to hallway. to the left is the bathroom, to the right is the family room, and straight back are the bedrooms.
SOO much cabinet space and counter space...I'm so happy!

We are so happy to announce that we finally found the perfect apartment for us and our new baby. It is a duplex-style apartment in a super convenient location for Josiah and in a really nice area of town. We will be close to my doctor's office, some of our favorite restaurants, the baby's pediatrician, lots of parks, the bus stop, and so much more! We are beyond thrilled. Here are some pictures of our new place.

Belly Bumps & Baby Stuff

The Vera Bradley diaper bag my mom got me for Easter...I absolutely adore it!
Our very first baby purchase was this pretty bassinet from Craigslist! I love how it is gender neutral...we've also purchased our crib (well, it was a gift from my mom), I will post pictures once we get it out of the box.

9 weeks pregnant
5 weeks pregnant
There is nothing in the world comparable to the feeling of seeing your first EVER positive pregnancy test!

This is me on my 26th birthday, completely unaware that I was pregnant.

Heartbeat Appointment

Posted by: Jenna in

Today we got to hear our baby's heartbeat for the first time EVER! It was the coolest sound...and it was beating strong in the 160s. It still seems so surreal to me that I have a tiny human growing inside of me...I can't quite grasp it and I don't think I truly will until I start to feel the baby move. We also scheduled the anatomy appointment today which is when we will get to find out the gender. The date is set for May 12th! I'm already counting down the weeks!

I would post some new pictures of my belly, but honestly I'm not showing at all. The picture I posted in the previous post was very misleading because I was not only SUPER bloated, but also wearing some maternity pants that make you look like you have more of a belly than you actually do. On top of that, I've lost a tiny bit of weight from morning sickness so my stomach is pretty darn flat right now.

Currently, I am 12 weeks pregnant, just one week away from completing the first trimester. My total weight gain is around 2-3 pounds (it fluctuates based on fluid retention), which I am really happy with seeming as I've been eating enough for 5 people. Plus, I haven't been able to exercise since I've been so sick and the food I DO eat is NOT healthy for the most part. So 2-3 pounds is a miracle in my eyes!

I started feeling a LOT better last week and am praying that the feeling continues! I promise I'll post more pictures once I start showing more.

Family Update

Per the request of my sweet friend, Larae, I decided it was time to update the blog incase some family or friends have not heard the news: we are expecting our first child on October 12, 2010. I am currently 10.5 weeks along and so far the whole pregnancy experience has been LESS THAN glamorous, let me tell you (at least I'm honest, right?). I've been really sick, but thankfully my doctor gave me some awesome medicine that has been helping me keep down food and just be able to function. Josiah has been incredible every single minute so far. He has been cleaning the house, cooking, doing the dishes, running errands, etc...on top of working 40+ hours a week and going to school full-time. He is simply the most incredible husband ever and I am so blessed to have him!

We had an early ultrasound at 7.5 weeks and got to see the baby's heartbeat, which was so amazing...then in a week and a half we go to actually hear the heartbeat on the doppler machine. I'm really excited about that appointment. On May, 12th, we will find out the baby's gender...yay! Some people have asked where we are going to register-- so far we have started adding things to Target Baby registry, and I plan on doing a Babies-R-us registry as well. We are mainly borrowing or buying things used from craigslist, ebay, consignments, etc...so I'm hoping we won't need too much!

Please keep the baby and our family in your prayers, pray specifically that the baby will grow strong and healthy.

Birthday and Valentine's Day

Posted by: Jenna

This post isn't going to be very exciting because I don't have any new pictures-- we haven't been taking any lately. But, we have had some excitement around our house lately. January 31st was my 26th birthday and Josiah made it SO awesome. He cooked me chicken parmesan (homemade) one night, took me out to dinner another night, and then on my actual birthday we ate sushi. He also baked me a homemade strawberry cake. It was so delicious. I told him he needs to start cooking more because he was hiding his culinary talents from me!

For Valentine's Day we wanted to go to Bonefish Grill, but we waited too long to make reservations, so they were full by the time we called. Our backup plan was California Pizza Kitchen, so that's where we went. It seemed only fitting since that's where we met.

I will try to take some pictures and post then soon-- I think we may have 1 lone picture from my birthday. I know it's pathetic that I haven't been taking many since I have that brand new camera!! I'll try to be better!

"The Rufus" Josiah ordered= HUGE and DELICIOUS. It had pulled pork, fried onions, bacon, peppers, and potato strings all smothered in a tangy sauce. It was finger lickin' that's for sure!
You can write on the tables and chairs!

Dad, Mom, and Josiah at Yellow Dog Eats-- the BEST barbeque joint in Orlando. It's so unique and cute, we eat there every time we are in town.
I told you it was UNIQUE :) There are also pictures all over the walls of different dogs that the locals send in.

Yellow Dog Eats-- yummy!
Josiah bonded with Solomon
Solomon and Pasha-- their two great danes
Ashton and Solomon-- he is taller than her!
Lisa and Kevin...our hosts for the night. Lisa was my 11th grade AP english teacher and I have stayed in contact with her over the years. We try to get together whenever I am in Florida. Lisa cooked the most incredible meal and Kevin grilled some juicy steaks for us! We are so thankful for their presence in our lives.

sweet Anna
little Miss Abigail-- isn't she a doll?

For our first Christmas, Josiah got me a new Canon Rebel-- the camera I have been wanting for years! I was so surprised that he had gone to such lengths to get me what I THOUGHT was WAY out of our budget-- but he did it and I am so thankful for his resourcefulness!
I got Josiah a Keurig coffee maker and we are both loving it! We also got to see my brother and his kids on Christmas night before we drove to Florida to spend time with my parents.
We stayed in Florida for a week and really enjoyed ourselves. Now, it's back to the grind!! We hope you enjoy the pictures captured with the new camera.
