Christmas 2007 with the Shields' Family

Posted by: Jenna

We had Christmas at our house in Louisville with Brandon, Emily, Cooper, and James. It was nice and relaxing. I also got to see Julie and Jeremy while they were in town visiting from Wentzville. We played games, ate lots of good food, and played Guitar Hero (probably the highlight of my Christmas!).

Jordan Cronlund (high school friend) and myself one night hanging out at Sam Sneads

I was excited to be able to attend my old high school's (The First Academy) alumni party in Orlando for the second time. Last year I had a blast, so this year, I scheduled my vacation around it. It's always good to catch up with everyone and see where everyone is in life. Hopefully I'll be able to go next year as well.

A Weekend With Aunt Paula

Cooper all bundled up in his seat... ready to go home... after a night of visiting with Aunt Paula
Sweet Cooper

Mom, me, and Paula in our matching pajamas...

This past weekend my mom's sister came in town from Atlanta to see little Cooper and do some Christmas shopping. Aunt Paula is one of the head haunchos at Macy's corporate, so it only made sense for us to take advantage of her discount and do our shopping there! We got lots of good stuff, hit up Target and Marshals, and then ended our night at Ernestos for the best Mexican in town! Aunt Paula also got to spend some quality time with Cooper and James on Friday night. Cooper even kept his eyes open the whole time while she held him! She was also excited to see James and hear all the new words he is saying. Speaking of which, some of James' new words are: "Jay-kie" (for Uncle Jake), "Jen-dah" (for Aunt Jenna), and "Coo-coo" (for Cooper). Also, while Paula was here we happened to receive our Christmas gifts in the mail from Grandma Charmaine (which is my mom's and Paula's mother). She sent us all matching p.j.'s so we just had to take a picture together. Thank you, Aunt Paula, for coming to see us...we miss you so much and can't wait to see you again soon!

Cake Baking and Julie's Open House

Here is another cutie. This is our pastor's daughter, Miss Anna Kate Scroggins.
Julie's little niece, Grace, was at the party...I just had to take a picture of her cuz she looked so cute!

At the Going Away/Graduation Party

Julie and I getting a little festive after a night of cake decorating...

Julie was in charge of baking all the cakes for their Open House this past Friday. I came over to "help", but I ended up just watching and eating all the cake scraps...haha.

The graduation hat! Julie's husband, Jeremy, just graduated from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary last weekend. He is a Master of Divinity!
Congratulations Jeremy!

Silly Girls...

Adorable-- see we started the night off strong...but then things got a little crazy...
Still pretty darn cute... but somewhat crazy...we seriously could not figure out how to pack these flowers without smooshing them...it took us like an hour to finally find a solution...

Not so cute...these were some "Night Driver's" glasses that someone had given Julie as a "gift"...hehe

I was over at Julie's a few nights ago helping her and Jeremy pack for their move to Wentzville. We got a little slap happy at one point so we decided to take a few pictures...

Silly Boy...

I was babysitting James last week when Cooper was in the hospital and we started playing a game where I would throw a blanket over his head and then pull it off real quick. Every time I pulled it off his head he would giggle hysterically, but the funniest part was his hair! The blanket was creating static and caused his hair to stick out everywhere...it was so cute I had to take a picture to show Emily and Brandon.

Another funny story (notice my cell phone in James' hand...he loves playing with all our cell phones!) that actually happened today...I was calling Emily to see if she needed any help with the boys...the phone rang and rang until finally I heard someone pick up the phone, but it wasn't Emily! Instead, I heard this husky little voice say "Lo?" "Lo?" I'm sure by now you've guessed who it was-- James! I tried to tell him to go give the phone to mommy, because I could hear Em talking in the background...but instead, he hung up on me! Haha, the whole exchange pretty much made my day...

Em's mom bought this cute stork to put out in the front yard. Somehow my parents managed to get James to stand still long enough for them to take his picture in front of it.

Ok, so I thought maybe I should start a new post instead of continually adding to "Cooper's Debut" since he has already made his debut! Anyways, Emily and Cooper came home from the hospital today and they are doing great! Em is pretty worn out, but happy to be home with James and Brandon again. Me and my parents brought them dinner tonight and helped out with the boys while Em and Bran relaxed a little bit.
